Following our borrower manager’s, Tom Edmunds, initiative to run the 18-mile round trip to work every day for a month, we have decided to declare March ‘Mad March’. As part of ‘Mad March’ as a team we have made a commitment to go out of our way to run/jog/walk/swim over 1,250 miles within March. Our aim is to at least raise £1 for every mile we complete to donate it to our partner charity, St Basils.

CrowdProperty has funded the development of over 500 Great British homes although we are just beginning our journey to unlock much needed housing supply throughout the country. There are other ways we can help people who need homes and therefore we are delighted to support St Basils to help tackle youth homelessness across the West Midlands.

As a proud, Birmingham-based business, we have been bowled over by the great work St Basils does to support over 5,000 16-25 year-olds each year who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is a cause close to our hearts and aligns with our mission to support SME developers build Great British Homes.

St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 5,000 young people per year across the West Midlands region with the specific services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest and Coventry.

Every year over 1,200 young people are housed in their 33 supported accommodation schemes, which for some young people includes their young children as well. They have a range of prevention, accommodation and support services to help young people regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives, gain skills, training and employment and move on. The aim is to help them successfully break the 'cycle of homelessness' so that they can go on to experience a bright, fulfilling future and never return to a state where they are at risk of homelessness again.

So as a proud Birmingham based innovative business we want to give back to the community as much as possible directly as well as through worthy charity partners. Therefore, we would like to ask you to generously sponsor us for a worthy cause. As always, we will look to exceed ourselves and our personal commitments. Our excellent business practices apply to this charity initiative, with our performance being third party verified (by step counting applications) and any deviants facing penalties of £1 per mile under target. Furthermore, as always, we prefer to lead by our performance with our team already having completed 296 miles in the first 5 days of March that equates to 23.7% of our target.
